Dr Yvonne Wengström is Coordinator of Caring Science Research at the Karolinska University Hospital, and Head of Nursing at the Section for Nursing at the Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden.
Dr Wengström qualified in oncology nursing at the Karolinska Institute in 1991 and obtained her degree (1994) and doctorate (2001) in oncology nursing from the same institution.

She is currently a member of the European Oncology Nursing Society (EONS) and has been President of EONS since 2005. Dr Wengström has participated in numerous committees, including the EONS Spring convention, ECCO 12th and 13th Executive Scientific Committee, and she is involved in the organisation of future EONS meetings.
In her active research career, Dr Wengström has authored and co-authored many publications in peer-reviewed oncology journals and she is a reviewer and editorial board member for several oncology nursing journals including the European Journal of Oncology Nursing. Dr Wengström is also involved in mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate research students in the field of oncology nursing.
