The GAEA Initiative

Steering Committee

The GAEA Initiative is a collaboration between the European School of Oncology, the European Oncology Nursing Society and Novartis Oncology. Europa Donna the European Breast Cancer Coalition is acting as patients' advocacy resource for the project.

Each organisation is represented on the Initiative Steering Committee by one person. The Steering Committee was responsible for agreeing the aims, scope and methodology of the initiative; identifying the topics covered in the questionnaire; interpreting the survey findings to interested parties (patients, patients’ groups, physicians, nurses and the public) and deciding how these findings should be communicated to a wider audience. A literature search of published data on adjuvant endocrine therapy from the past 40 years was carried out by a team at the University of Cardiff, UK, under the direction of Dr Rachel Iredale.
